We know how frustrating it can be to lose something while travelling. At c2c, we’ll do our best to reunite you with your lost item.

Reporting Lost Property

If you’ve lost something on a c2c train or at one of our stations, please contact us as soon as possible by filling in the form below Please provide as much detail as you can to help us identify your item, including:

  • Where you were travelling from and to
  • The date and time of travel
  • A full description of the item (make, model, colour, any distinguishing features, and if applicable, whether it was in a case or bag)
  • Where you believe the item was left

If you’ve found an item on one of our trains or stations, please hand it to a member of c2c staff. Your help could really brighten someone’s day.

Lost Property Office Opening Hours

Our Lost Property office at Westcliff is open on:

  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
  • 09:00 to 16:30

Please note: Due to maintenance work on our inventory systems, processing times may be longer than usual. We appreciate your patience.

Removal and destruction policy

We remove and securely destroy any personal data. Unclaimed property is donated to charity, recycled, disposed of, or sold. We do not hold specific auctions for unclaimed items.

Items which are perishable may be disposed of earlier in accordance with the National Rail Conditions of Travel.

Items We Cannot Store

Unfortunately, we’re unable to retain the following items:

  • Perishable goods (e.g. food and drink)
  • Soiled or hazardous items
  • Opened toiletries or cosmetics
  • E-cigarettes or vape liquids
  • Weapons or illegal items (which will be reported to the British Transport Police).

These will be safely disposed of immediately.

Passports, ID and Bank Cards

  • If a passport is found it will be returned directly to HM Passport Office or issuing office as per government guidance. If you have only just lost your passport, one of our team may be able to assist you. We recommend filling in our Lost property form as quickly as possible in these instances.
  • Driving licences are returned to the DVLA
  • Bank cards: Securely destroyed after 24 hours if unclaimed
